Three (One) O Stares Danger in the Eye for “Homeland”

Work Promotes Season 2 of the Showtime Networks Emmy-winning Series

MARINA DEL REY, California – October 5, 2012 – Film and commercial production company Three (One) O announced today that they have completed a three-spot promotional campaign for Showtime Networks’ second season of the domestic spy thriller “Homeland.” Directed and lensed by agency co-principal Norry Niven and executive produced by co-principal Elaine Sibert, the campaign ratchets up the tension for new episodes of a show that has become a hit with viewers and critics alike – having recently picked up Emmys for leads Claire Danes and Damien Lewis, along with the Emmy for Best Drama.

Two of the spots, “Campaign” and “Speech,” center on Lewis’s character, Nicholas Brody, a former Marine POW now working for al-Qaida. And, as featured in the spots, a newly minted United States Senator. “Look Again” features Danes’s Carrie Mathison, a CIA agent with her own inner demons. The three spots share common themes: The past was complicated, tricky and fraught with danger for all involved – yet the future maybe even more so.

To capture the inner turmoil of Brody and Mathison, the team “discovered something uniquely elegant in shooting motion control,” stated Niven. The use of the motion control rig allowed the director to achieve everything he needed in camera. “With repeatable moves, we could edit around the projection in Claire’s spot and the crowd in Damien’s. We rehearsed for a day with stand-ins so the actors could work quickly on the shoot day.”

Airing now, the spots are the latest in a long collaboration between Three (One) O and Showtime. Niven and Sibert have created numerous promotional spots for the network’s own branding, as well as for its series, including all seven seasons of “Dexter.” The efforts have consistently received industry recognition through the years.
