Three (One) O Helps Shine a Light on Child Victims of Terror

New PSA Promotes Efforts to Feed Thousands Victimized by Boko Haram

MARINA DEL REY, California – April 15, 2015 – Three (One) O is proud to announce the completion of a new public service announcement

on behalf of the American University of Nigeria (AUN) Foundation. Entitled “Next,” the PSA aims to highlight the needs of hundreds of

thousands of children displaced or orphaned in the wake of the Boko Haram terror group’s campaign of violence. The spot is the brainchild of

writer/producer Julio Cabral, who brought the idea to Three (One) O principals, executive producer Elaine Sibert and director Norry Niven,

who enthusiastically signed on.

In “Next,” a young boy dreams of a life filled with friends, laughter and hope – a life he will never get a chance to lead thanks to the

ruthlessness of Boko Haram. The piece concludes with the pointed message that, if thousands upon thousands of children had been murdered in

London or Paris or New York City, the world would respond swiftly – but that has not been the case concerning Nigeria. “We want to support

the survivors and bring more attention to the atrocities committed by Boko Haram,” said Mr. Cabral. “This issue is not being given the attention

that it deserves.”

The AUN has been helping victims – people who are basically refugees in their own country – since March 2014. The foundation can feed a

person for just two cents per day, but with so many people in need, resources are dwindling. “Next” is meant to help replenish the AUN’s

charitable reserves.

“We are turning to the world and asking parents to imagine that their child is “Next,” stated Dr. Margee Ensign, president of AUN. “Whatever

they have named their child, that name becomes ‘Next’ in the eyes of Boko Haram. Hundreds of thousands of Nigerian children have fled to

our town for safety. We provide food, shelter and a chance to let their dreams become a reality,” Ensign concluded.

To create the spot, Three (One) O gathered professionals from throughout the Los Angeles and Dallas production communities, all of whom

volunteered their time and talent for the cause. “Every so often you get a chance to use your talents for the greater good, and this is definitely

one of those times,” stated Ms. Sibert. “We can’t thank our team enough for helping us, Julio and the AUN get this heartbreakingly important

message out to a wider audience.”
